Made a pit stop at The Lunch Box on the way to Cali. Thank you yelp for helping us to find a lunch stop that is not a horrendous chain. These sandwiches are made fresh to order, delicious, and are huge. In hindsight we should have shared one between the two of us, because we each had a whole half left over. We also chatted a bit with who I assume to be the owner. Super friendly and really great service. Don't waste your time at some Jimmy John's h*ll hole, head over to The Lunch Box for your gourmet sandwich needs.

Had the pulled pork. Great flavoring and perfectly complemented with the right bread. Its a bit pricey (sandwich chips and water was $9.16) but was worth it.

We knew we liked the employees (owner?) right away when one greeted us outside as we were reading the menu to give a slice of freshly cooked roast beef to our pup. We had the club and grilled cheese sandwiches which were solid choices. Both were large, filling portions, albeit a tad buttery for our tastes.

St. George Veggie sandwich was awesome, service was great, what more can you ask for? I will definitely be coming back again for lunch.

Stopped in here today for lunch. Great place to grab a sandwich. We had the smoked turkey and the hero. The food was awesome and service was super friendly. Make sure you grab one of their homemade cookies too. Great Spot!

I had the fresh roasted roast beef sandwich on white and potato salad. The sandwich was huge and I shared it with my husband. They gave us free cookies and they were delicious. We will be back whenever we come through here again.

We had the soup of the day which was clam chowder and it was amazing! Big, delicious clams with potato and bacon along with a chicken BBQ salad and a slice of sour dough toast. Very worth our stop after our 3 hour drive and would recommend it for lunch any day.

Another great dining experience. You won't go away hungry. Everything is made fresh to order. So fresh the made my blue cheese dressing while I waited. It was delish!! Their macadamia chocolate chip coconut cookie were delish. It was our first time visiting but we all loved our lunch. The owner operator was delightful. We will be back. Yummmmmy! St. George has a gem!!

Perfect lunch stop on the drive from LA / SoCal to Park City, Utah. Fresh and delicious sandwiches and soups. A great alternative to the greasy spoons littered along I-15.

This place is awesome. Yes - it is a little more pricey BUT you get what you pay for. Large portions and quality, fresh ingredients. We came here with the family for a weekday lunch and our sandwiches were huge. The soup was delicious and the service was friendly. I would go back again.

Nothing really special about their sandwiches. Kind of a typical fair w/out a lot of flair. The staff was genuinely nice and friendly.

Possibly the cutest business partners to ever exist. Husband and wife side by side and with grins ear to ear. The food is filled with their love too! They pour their heart into their business and it reflects! Absolutely delicious BBQ pulled pork.

One word... Phenomenal! Both the food and the service were outstanding! My wife and I ordered the BBQ Chicken salad and the St. George Veggie sandwich with turkey and our taste buds were more than satisfied! We are recommending this place to all our family members and friends. We met the owners, and they are both really kind and friendly. I highly recommend going here!

Stopped in St. George on the way to Laramie, Wyoming. The best sandwiches and potato salad I've had in a long time. Ordered the smoked turkey with a surprising ingredient, cranberries! Yum. We will definitely stop here again.

  • Matthew K.

Awesome! Sandwiches were superb. We had the club and the BBQ chicken sandwich. Fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Generous portions. The prices are slightly above average for a sandwich place, but totally worth it. The soups we had were both descent, clam chowder and tomato vegetable. The potato salad was OK as well.

    (5)
  • Jamie G.

Delicious sandwiches! My husband said their cole slaw is really great. I got the Turkey and I really liked it. The cranberries were a great addition! My kids loved the BLT. You can create your own or order a specialty on the menu. The breads were good and the sandwiches were large. We will be back!

  • Sharla N.

Very nice friendly staff. The best French dip hubby & I have ever had. The Mediterranean with Turkey also delicious. Bbq chicken salad rivals CPK.

  • Clarissa M.

Oh my god. The best clam chowder I've ever had! This place is perfect! The owner is a nice guy who will talk to ya. Everyone should stop here. The sandwiches are so good but damn I can't wait to try their other soups.

Fantastic! Loaded baked potato soup to die for! Wonderful little gem in a town of chain type eateries.

Friendly service and delicious salad! Only complaint is that the salad was just way too big and yummy. :) thanks, yelp reviewers, for helping us find the perfect lunch spot on our road trip.

  • Mat A.

Okay, I have been here multiple times now for lunch, and love the food. But, Tony, the owner just added an AWESOME sandwich to the menu, a Cobb Salad Sandwich with melted blue cheese, avocado, egg, lettuce, tomato, chicken...it is an incredible sandwich. Not sure it is on the printed menu yet, but be sure to ask for it if it's not.

  • Jeremy J.

Fantastic food! Kind of hidden away in a nice and quiet location. Took my wife there for lunch and got the French dip. SO GOOD! One of the best french dips I've had. The meat just fell apart in my mouth. Really friendly service, too. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

  • James C.

Usually I don't try new restaurants, and I never write yelp reviews. But I had the best egg sandwich ever created today. It was so amazing that it compelled me to sign up and write a review. "The Lunch Box" deserves all the business in the world.

  • D B.

Incredible food! I don't get to eat out often but this has become mine and my wife's go to place for a lunch date when the kids are at school. The grilled cheese is amazing and is built for us big kids at heart with gourmet tastes! The pork is the best in town! The staff has always been great to work with and know the menu inside and out. It is nice to be in a place where staff has passion and genuine appreciation for customers. My wife tries something new each time and is always impressed. I have stuck with the grilled cheese because it really is that amazing. You gotta try the cookies!!!! support these good folks, they work so hard and impress me each time I go in. I can't say enough good things about this shop. It is a community gem.

Been there 6 times. Twice they were out of sandwich I wanted to order. Three other times they were randomly closed although it was during their posted hours. The one time I actually had a sandwich it was good. Call before you go to make sure they are open and have a 2nd choice picked out when you go to order.

    (1)
  • boostman Z.

Absolutely fantastic sandwich spot! Friendly and helpful service, squeaky clean everywhere (including restroom). Sandwiches are fresh and as tasty as you can imagine. The sweet pickles jalapeños are to die for. I don't normally eat jalapeños but couldn't stop eating these. Bread pudding is also wonderful - just as Grandma used to make. If you are visiting St. George, this place cannot be missed!

    (5)
  • Blair S.

Stopped here with my wife and mom on the way back from Vegas. Only a couple minutes off I-15, away from all the chains. Great place, really good food. Seemed like they were a little slow getting orders up, as I waited just under 20 minutes for my sandwich, but in all fairness, it was well worth it. Definitely recommend stopping here if you are in St. George.

  • Kendra N.

The food is superb. Very fresh and crisp, the flavors are great, and the menu has a large variety of all sorts of taste profiles, something you don't often get from a sandwich place. The problem is actually getting the food. I came down from Cedar one day just to find that they'd changed their hours to be very limited, and they now close at 5 PM. Oh well, my fault for not calling ahead. I went by again the other day at 3 PM, two hours before close, and was able to get a delicious sandwich. While being served, however, the employee told me I'd made it just in time because they were running out of food. I thought it was a joke about having been busy but, while I waited for my food, they hung a big closed sign on the door and turned some customers away. What business runs out of food two hours before close? It's one thing to run out of a few items but to run out of enough you are shutting down is ludicrous and speaks to poor restaurant management. So my advice is to call ahead and don't presume they'll be open even if it is during their business hours. If you can get a sandwich it's very very worth it. Just realize that if you drop by without calling ahead you may go away disappointed.

    (3)
  • Susan M.

Very friendly service. One of the best all-veggie sandwiches, husband happy with BLT and my little ones loved their grilled cheese. Small shop and off the main road, but worth seeking out.

    (5)
  • Travis C.

They went out of their way to make a salad for me after they were closed. The salad was very fresh and awesome. Highly recommended.

    (5)
  • Michael M.

Really outstanding sandwiches. We both had the "Classic Club" and they were HUGE. Everything is roasted fresh everyday, including the turkey and roast beef so if you come late it may be gone, but any of the deli meats sandwiches are excellent. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is cool. Looking forward to going back.

    (5)
  • Kelsey J.

The food was not bad by any means. But it was not spectacular. It's good if you're looking for a simple sandwich. It was not $8.00 amazing to me but their sandwiches do come packed full of whatever you order. As a vegetarian I appreciated their multiple options such as the St. George Veggie Sandwich, a grilled cheese sandwich, and egg salad sandwich. They also have an option to build your own sandwich and salad options if you ask for no meat. Awesome local place to visit. The staff was very friendly.

I was a bit disappointed with the Lunchbox. I had seen great ratings and was hopeful as it looked like it could have potential for one of those "best kept secret" hole in the wall restaurants. It was small and local and I liked the service, however, I ordered the 3 pig sandwich and left dissatisfied. My three complaints are: 1. Serving size was too small. 2. Too expensive for what they gave. 3. Sandwich was just mediocre. (Bun seemed slightly stale) For what it's worth, my wife really liked the flavor of her sandwich. As it's a bit out of the way for me, I won't be going back again. Sounds like others have had better experiences, so maybe I just had an experiential exception to the rule.

I got the St. George veggie with turkey on wheat bread and it was so good! Everything was very fresh. The potato salad was also really good. Would definitely come back again!

    (4)
  • Missy B.

How long does it take to make a sandwich? Seriously, how long? We're going on 45 minutes here. I'm not sure if they're baking the bread from scratch, butchering the turkey in the back, or milking a cow to make the cheese, but this is getting ridiculous. I'm half a breath from throwing my hands in the air and getting a refund. **** We finally received our two sandwiches, almost an hour after ordering. They were okay, even good, but nothing we couldn't have made ourselves. Considering that we could have driven to the store, purchased the ingredients, gone home, and made the same sandwiches in about the same amount of time, this is not a restaurant we will return to.

    (2)
  • Carissa F.

I got half Italian wedding soup and Greek salad and the grilled cheese with ham. I have to say the grilled cheese was the best I have ever had! The soup and salad were pretty good and the side macaroni salad was delish! I love the name I think it is cute and creative. The owner and staff we super nice, fast and helpful. A great new place in St. George for lunch!

Because this place had very good Yelp reviews, and I was on the lookout for a fine sandwich shop in St. George, I decided to give it a try. After I walked in, I found a clean little place with brightly colored yellow walls that was surprisingly crowded during the noon hour. I next encountered two friendly owners behind the counter, and ordered some soup to eat in, and some sandwiches to go, and was given a medium-sized cup and free water with ice. My Skin-on Potato Clam Chowder was very good in taste and packed lots of clams and celery, but seemed an awfully small-sized bowl for $4.95. About a 6-inch Hero Sandwich that was heavy on bologna was also very good, and included ham, lettuce, tomato, Red Onion, Green Peppers, Black Olives, and Banana Peppers inside a sesame-seed-studded hoagie roll. My lunch this day was rounded out by an excellent creamy Skin-on Potato Salad. Seating at small tables was comfortable, and to-go orders were nicely packaged in resealable Styrofoam containers. When again visiting in St. George during lunch time, I will most surely return here.

Mixed feelings about The Lunch Box. They were also somehow already out of all of their salads and soups in early afternoon, so I got a sandwich. Sandwich was really good, but overpriced. It was over $30 for the three of us. The service was really quick, but all of the tables were quite dirty with food from other diners.

  • Lisa W.

Great food! I had the pig sandwich, my daughters had the bbq and blt, and my Mom had the turkey. All of them were delicious and the pig was the best sandwich I've ever had. The macaroni salad they make in house and it was great. The service was great too.

This is a great place to eat! I ordered the D Sub a sandwich available for DSU students with an ID. It's a small shop but the quality of the food makes me look past that. I'll definitely be back in soon and during school frequently

  • Dave N.

This place makes awesome sandwiches. The whole menu is a safe bet. I had the meditarranean sandwich. I really enjoyed it but for over $9, way too expensive. Its good food no doubt, but I just can't see the price justified at that high. Because of that I can't see myself eating here more than once a month. Its dinner prices with a light lunchtime menu. If you can afford it, its definitely worth frequenting. Wish I could go more.

My family and I were looking for a simple sandwich place for lunch and this was an excellent choice. All of our sandwiches had little unique touches and the soup was terrific! The service was great and everyone there was very sweet! I would definitely go again.

The gem of Geezy. I dig the St George with bacon and Turkey and the Tab. Keep on keepin' on, Lunchbox.

Great food!! This place has the best turkey sandwich. I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. #sogood

  • Michelle S.

Came on a busy weekend and waited an entire hour just to get our 4 sandwiches. Kinda crazy to wait that long for a lunch. Quality and taste was good, nothing crazy unique or over the top amazing. All my friends commented that they felt like they could have made the same sandwich at home. We were frustrated because we were having Mommy time and we were planning to go to the outlets but ran out of time...waiting for a deli sandwich. Hum. Still good quality and it was good but forgettable.

Can we just talk about the French Dip...the horseradish...the sheer perfection of the sandwich as a whole? =) The bread is yummy, the au jus is tasty, and the crispy onions and horseradish seal the deal. I've heard great things about other menu items, but I can't bring myself to steer away from that French Dip. It's that good. =) Friendly, fast and FRESH.

  • Adam E.

Loved it. Delicious, large, gourmet sandwiches. We got there and they were out of the kind of sandwich I wanted. But both the owners were there and were extra friendly to us. They chatted with us lots but also knew when to give us time to enjoy our meal on our own. They gave us samples of the sauces and the soup when we didn't know which to pick. I'd say some of the sandwiches were fair priced but some a little bit pricey. Definitely a place I'll recommend to anyone who comes through St. George.

Had a great lunch at the Lunch Box today. We had the clam chowder, Greek salad, and a BBQ pork sandwich, which was served topped with a slice of REAL cheddar and crispy onions. Yum! The bread pudding was tasty and we took a cookie home for later. Service was quick and friendly. Glad we went!

The place was great. The portions and taste of the product was above average. The cleanliness and hospitality were fantastic. You can tell there was a sense of pride. They care about the customer here. This will now be my go to spot in St. George whenever I visit.

Came in for lunch got the soup half sandwich. The soup of the day was the bean vegetable soup it was good. The star of the show was the BLT sandwich that came with it. It was outstanding. Though the only reason this place didn't get a 5 star was that their bottled drinks all had this weird looking red dust on it. Kinda nasty

Some of the best sandwiches in the world! You have to try them. You will never look at a sandwich the same.

  • Lucus C.

This place is pretty good after reviewing the reviews. I had the pig sandwich with pulled pork, ham, and bacon topped with potato chips and onion strings. The potato salad was excellent. My only wish is that my sandwich could have been bigger, but all in all a great place!

    (4)
  • Stacy G.

Pretty good sandwiches (better than Jimmy John's). We split the pulled pork sandwich, topped with fried onions and served with a side of macaroni salad, which had a pretty good flavor and if you don't mind large amounts of mayonnaise... that's just par for the course in Utah, though! Nice friendly service and generous portions! Clean bathroom too.

    (4)
  • Alexa M.

Stopped here on a road trip through Utah. They make their sandwiches fast. I had the club sandwich and the potato salad. The club sandwich was great and had a lot of flavor and the potato salad was a little better than your regular deli potato salad. Great prices and a great road trip stop!

Great place! We stopped here while driving tough St. George and am so glad we did. The store morrow is Small Place, Big Taste, and they couldn't be more right. Excellent sandwiches, fresh made by friendly staff. Highly recommended!

  • Kolby T.

First thing I noticed is they don't have Coke on the fountain. They redeemed themselves though because they sell cans of coke in a fridge. The menu is great. They have a fine selection of soups salads and sandwiches. The grilled cheese is great. They wrap it in parmasean cheese.

  • Eliza T.

Tidy little hole-in-the-wall with goofy decor, across the street from a cemetery. It was so gorgeous out when I ate here I considered (for one, ill-conceived moment) bringing my sandwich across the street to eat it on the grass, in the sunshine, but then I remembered it was a cemetery, not a park, and changed plans accordingly. I ordered the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The veggies were big, hearty slices that seemed like they had been roasted in house, which was awesome. The turkey was basically grocery store lunch meat. Tasty, but the whole sandwich was pretty much one texture. Whenever I eat something like this I hear my Mom saying, "It's like they don't think I have teeth!" Decent, and worth a stopover if you're passing by and looking for quick lunch at a locally-owned place. Maybe order something else, though? I'd imagine their traditional deli sandwiches are a safer bet.

We are from out of town and looked this restaurant up on Yelp and are SO grateful for the good reviews because we LOVED it!! The St George Veggie (add Turkey) was unreal and we got the BBQ chicken Salad and The Chop Chop which were both so good. The lettuce is finely chopped and they mix everything together instead of placing it on top. Their Clam Chowder soup (he adds a little Tabasco if wanted, which I would highly suggest) was great! Two thumbs up on this smaller fun joint!

I found The Lunchbox on yelp as I was on my way home to Vegas. I had been craving a good deli sandwich all week. When I showed up, the owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. It was by far one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and the macaroni salad was to die for! I'll be stopping there every time I pass thru now. Yummers!!!!

Stopped by here during our day in St. George after a weekend in California. It was later, about 2pm so no crowd. They were able to accommodate our party of 2 adults and 6 kids without problem. Ordered about 5 different sandwiches, and I got a chance to sample every one of them (Dad's "sandwich tax"). Loved every one. Hard to say which was my favorite. The macaroni side was actually an attention-getter for me, with more chunky veggies than I'm used to; liked the recipe. They were helpful, attentive, kind and good natured. Kids loved the food as well. Prices were on par with this level of high quality ingredients and preparation. We parked across the street under a tree to keep the car cool.

Great sandwich, great sides, great atmosphere. Get the Tab and ask for cranberries on it. The sweet and salty with the bacon tastes great!

Delicious! It is great place to eat, quick and great service. Try one of their specialty sandwiches like the Italian hero. Cole slaw and Mac salad taste homemade just the right amount tang.

Kinda nasty

This place is pretty good after reviewing the reviews. I had the pig sandwich with pulled pork, ham, and bacon topped with potato chips and onion strings. The potato salad was excellent. My only wish is that my sandwich could have been bigger, but all in all a great place!

First thing I noticed is they don't have Coke on the fountain. They redeemed themselves though because they sell cans of coke in a fridge. The menu is great. They have a fine selection of soups salads and sandwiches. The grilled cheese is great. They wrap it in parmasean cheese.

Very friendly service. One of the best all-veggie sandwiches, husband happy with BLT and my little ones loved their grilled cheese. Small shop and off the main road, but worth seeking out.

Fantastic food! Kind of hidden away in a nice and quiet location. Took my wife there for lunch and got the French dip. SO GOOD! One of the best french dips I've had. The meat just fell apart in my mouth. Really friendly service, too. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

Usually I don't try new restaurants, and I never write yelp reviews. But I had the best egg sandwich ever created today. It was so amazing that it compelled me to sign up and write a review. "The Lunch Box" deserves all the business in the world.
